What is State of Play?

Board games have come a long way since Monopoly or Snakes & Ladders.  You can try your hand at building a civilisation, cooperating, trading or competing.  Run a power station, manage a farm or research the cures to deadly diseases to save humanity.  And there’s not a computer screen in sight!

State of Play is about encouraging more people to play games.  We have run events at a number of national and local festivals, including the ESRC Festival of Social Science, the Scottish Storytelling Festival, and the Kirkintilloch Canal Festival.  Take a look at our Past Events page for more details of events we have run, and check out our Upcoming Events page for the events planned for this year.

Who are we?

State of Play is Iain Nisbet and Alasdair Rutherford.
